About Me

Not So Scientific Gourmet blog came about because people keep asking me for my recipes and tips and tricks when cooking them. My lovely coworkers suggested I create this blog and Voila! Here we are.

I’ve been cooking all my life and have been making food gifts for Christmas ever since my teens. Some of these include pickled garlic, beer mustard, berry-infused vodka, and many cookies, pies, and other dessert items. I love to cook. Let me rephrase that, I LOVE to eat great food and the best way to do that is to make it yourself. So, yes, I do love to cook and to experiment in the kitchen. I remember making this amazing spaghetti sauce from scratch one time and my father asking me what I had done different as this was the best he’d ever had. I honestly couldn’t answer as I was just tossing spices in, simmering and tasting. Darn it all, he was right. It was my best sauce ever and I’ve never duplicated it. I’ve come close, really close, but not exactly.

I love to see my family happy, sitting around the table and enjoying something I put together just for them to enjoy. There’s not much better than a cleaned off plate and happy, smiling, well-fed faces after a meal. Well, except for someone to clean the table and the kitchen.

If you feel the same, or just want to duplicate my yummy successes – which I now write down (Thank you, Dad.), check back in here every week for a new treat.

Thanks for joining me.

  1. My wife followed the recipe for ALBONDIGAS SOUP (MEXICAN MEATBALL SOUP) and it was delicious. Maybe we will try adding red kidney beans and canned corn to it next time.
